What Is A CRD Check?

 The Central Registration Depository (CRD)  from FINRA supports the licensing and registration filing requirements of the U.S securities industry as well as how regulators. The FINRA CRD program covers the registration records of broker-dealer firms, brand offices, in addition to associated individuals. This includes qualification, employment, and disclosure histories. 

The CRD is available online as Web CRD. The system contains the registration records of more than 3,700 registered broker-dealers.  It also contains the qualification employment and disclosure histories for more than 634,000 individuals. 

In addition, Web CRD is a secure system for entitled users only that facilitates the processing and payment of registration-related fees such as form filings, fingerprint submissions, qualification exams, and continuing education sessions.  FINRA’s entitlement process must be completed to request access to Web CRD.
